| ¤ Chris Doak :: Young Adults Pastor :: cdoak@hisfaith.net Pastor Chris Doak was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on November 8th, 1978. His parents, Russ and Diane Doak are dedicated Christians and have been involved at their home church in Waterford, Michigan. In June of 1997 he graduated from high school and headed off to Michigan Christian College now Rochester College on a full ride basketball scholarship. While attending Rochester College he pursued a Bible degree and graduated with a double major both in History and Religion. In 1999 he met his wife to be, fine Christian young lady and within a few years he surrendered to the ministry and married Katie Sipos who has graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Education and now works at Waterford Christian Academy as the third grade teacher. In 2000 he began a student internship at Faith Baptist Church under the ministry of Pastor Jim Combs. Chris began his training in the area of student ministry and established several programs including a youth basketball league where varsity teams from the Oakland County area would participate. In 2001 he graduated from Rochester College and was offered a full time position at Faith Baptist of Waterford, Michigan as the Single Adult minister. In 2003 on his wedding day Chris was officially ordained into Christian ministry as a Pastor. Over the past four years he has continued to serve in the area of single adult ministry and has established ministry opportunities for people to connect into the local church, grow in their relationship with Christ, and serve through the church. Singles ministry currently has 3 full functioning divisions with small groups, Bible studies, service opportunities, and socials. 18-25 yrs old singles, 26-34 yrs old singles, and the 35+ yrs old singles. Each ministry has experienced growth in the past few years and has leadership within each one that serves to build the Kingdom of God. In 2004 he was given the responsibilities of the Sports and Recreation programs of the church. The Grace ministry offers people from young to old an avenue to connect into the church through sports. The ministry provides basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, racquetball, volleyball, dodge ball and much more. Through the Grace ministry was birthed Faith @ The Park which is a summer program for all ages at Clintonwood Park in Clarkston, Michigan. Chris and his wife Katie love what they do and are excited to see what God will do with them next. They reside in Keego Harbor, Michigan with their dog Samson and hope to have children soon. |
