¤ FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

Live Streaming - Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What do I need to view the live stream on Sunday’s?
A. We broadcast using Windows Media Player. You can download this program from www.microsoft.com. The stream can work in other programs, however it will work best in Windows Media Player

Q. The picture is small, can I make it bigger?
A. Windows Media Player does allow you to increase the size of the picture, however the quality will be lower as you make the picture bigger.

Q. Windows Media Player keeps “buffering,” what does this mean?
A. There are several reasons that can cause this. Windows Media Player downloads up to 10 seconds of video ahead of what you are currently watching. If something happens to your internet connection that causes it to get behind – it will have to re-buffer. Possible reasons for this could be a problem with your internet connection, general internet congestion , or you happen to be watching a video at the same time as many other people which is temporarily overloading our server.

Q. I have a dial-up connection, can I watch a live stream?
A. Yes you can, but keep in mind you are streaming a large amount of data and you may experience more problems. A faster internet connection is recommended.

Q. What speed of internet connection is recommended to view a live stream?
A. We try to design the live stream for all users, however a DSL or Cable modem is recommended. Please keep in mind there are many factors outside of our control that can affect your connection to our server.

Q. The link on the website isn’t working, is there another way to connect to the stream?
A. Yes, in Windows Media Player, click on File and then on Open URL. Type in the following address:
mms://208.109.162.48/faithlive
